General FAQs

How far out are your booking times from time of call to time of delivery?

Generally, we are 1-2 days out from booking, depending on your location and the size of the job. Please allow more lead time if you have a large job requiring many loads or if your job site is far from town, requiring extra travel time, so we can fit your needs into our schedule and keep things on time.

*Springtime and the start of Fall can get busier with potentially longer lead-times, so please plan accordingly.

What is your cancellation policy?

We have a 2-hour cancellation policy. If you must cancel a delivery, please allow at least 2 hours before your delivery time to allow for rescheduling to fill in the cancelled timeslot. Bookings that are cancelled with LESS than 2 hours lead time may be subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

Can I bring my pickup truck/trailer to the yard and get loaded with material?

Yes, absolutely! We have a loader operator during all our open business hours who is available to load customer vehicles.

*Please note: we take no responsibility for damages incurred by loading rocks into the back of a truck or trailer. Our operators do their best to be careful loading, but with the nature of the material being dumped into a vehicle, some damages and/or accidents can occur.

What if I only need a tiny bit to finish a job or I don’t own a truck or trailer to get loaded?

You can self-load materials in our yard if you don’t own a truck/trailer to load or if you only need a little bit of material. Bring your own buckets, bags, bins or whatever you wish to load! We have standard size sand-bags available for purchase at $1.00 per bag if necessary. We do not provide a service where we fill your bags or buckets for you.

Is there a minimum amount of material I must order or pick up at a time?

There is no minimum quantity of material you must have loaded or delivered, however there is a minimum COST for materials loaded.

Minimum Cost if we load with our loader: $35.00+tax

Minimum Cost if you load yourself: $12.00+tax

Meaning if we loaded you and the cost of materials loaded is less than $35 we round you up to $35, if it’s over there is no additional charge. If you are self-loading and the total cost of material is less than $12.00, we round you up to $12.00, if you loaded more, there’s no additional charge. The same loader minimum applies to delivery as well as loading in the yard. If you order less than $35.00 worth of material to be delivered you will be charged $35 for the material plus the cost of delivery. You can order as much or as little as you need!

Do I need to be home when the delivery is scheduled?

You don’t have to be home at the time of the delivery but if you aren’t there to guide the driver to a dump location, please make sure you have either clearly described or clearly marked out a location for our drivers. If you choose not to be home and dump locations aren’t clear or aren’t possible due to obstructions when the driver arrives, we may be required to return the material without delivery, and you will still be on the hook for the cost of delivery (but not the material returned).

I have a tight driveway/gate/access point to my yard, how wide/tall/long are your trucks?

F550 Pickup/Dump: 8.3’ tall X 8’ wide X 22’ long

Dump Truck: 11’ tall X 9’ wide (10’ with mirrors) X 33’ long (approx)

Slinger Truck: 12.5’ tall X 9’ wide (10’ with mirrors) X 33’ long (before boom)

How many yards do your trucks carry at a time?

F550 Pickup/Dump = 3.5 yards rock/gravel (approx) 4 yards soil/mulches

Single Dump Truck = approx 12 yards/per load

Slinger Truck = approx 12 yards/per load

Truck and Pup = approx 23 yards/ per load

Truck and Tri-Pup = approx 28 yards/per load

Truck and Quad = approx 35 yards/per load

FAQs About Our Slinger

How far can the slinger truck throw materials?

The slinger has a conveyor-boom of 20’ before material leaves the belting. It can throw another 10-30’ off the belt, depending on materials.

*Soil can get quite dusty when thrown great distances, same for materials with fines.

What is the largest rock you can sling?

1”-2” rock is the largest that can be slung off the belt into place. The 2”-3” drain rock (round) can go in our slinger, but this can only be dropped off the belt at slow speeds, not slung into place.

Is there anything you CAN’T sling?

We cannot sling wood mulch, and we cannot sling rock over 1”-2” (fracture) or 2”-3” (round – see above), as these can damage the belting on the machine and/or become dangerous when slung.

How long does it take to sling material?

Slinging time depends on the individual job, job site access and materials being slung. Generally, the slinging time is quite fast and only takes an additional 10-15 minutes on top of travel time. (It’s a common misconception that slinging takes hours; it’s over in minutes and saves you hours of shovelling!)
